An inviting space for work and relaxation…
Neutral colours created a warm, relaxing palette for the beautiful North facing light in this room. Our brief was to design a multi-functional space that would remain calm and tranquil for living and working. As with all of our designs, we suggested classic pieces that would stand the test of time when buying new and sourced second hand pieces for upcycling where ever possible.

A comfortable seat was essential for wellbeing. A mix of home-made, upcycled and home-dyed cushions were layered with well-made high-street cushions and throws in natural materials for additional warmth and texture.
Rope was added to a second hand metal chair (which was previously neon pink), while a second hand flowery lamp base was updated with black spray paint and a new shade.
This beautiful vintage desk was sanded and treated with a Scandinavian white oil and fitted with castors, so that its owner could move it and change their working view to suit creative or concentrated work.
The Farrow & Ball paper used on this wall was an off-cut, sourced on eBay. It helps define and visually separate the working area, whilst blending beautifully with the colour scheme elsewhere in the room. A classic angle poise lamp provides task light for work and soft lighting in the evening.
