A fun room on a tight budget…
We had a lovely time designing and implementing this space. With some well chosen IKEA classics and plenty of reused and repurposed pieces, we were able to create a fun and very cost effective space which was uniquely personal to the little owner of the room.

IKEA IVAR units are wall mounted to create a large quantity of storage for toys and craft materials, as well as shelving space for treasures…and a family of stick insects :)
The desk and chair were sourced from Zero Waste and - along with a piece of cork and some pockets the owner already had - they form a lovely little work space. The storage pots are jam jars, with toy animals painted on them, spray painted in a favourite colour.
A second hand bunk bed was hacked to provide a cosy den beneath and a spare sleeping space when required. Extra drawers were wall mounted for small toys and books.
The mountain backdrop is a simple but effective design for the adventure loving owner of this room. A small box shelf lifts the light high enough for little hands to reach and provides extra storage.
